January 2019
From: Sifu Kirk Weicht
I want to thank everyone for a successful 2018 and wish all the students and instructors a Happy New Year.
A few housekeeping items:
1. Lost & Found items continue to grow. Please review the attached picture. If any of these items belong to you, please advise Derek (682) 554-6584 or myself. Any items not claimed by Feb. 1, 2019 will be donated.
2. Our school shirt supply has been fully restocked, including 2x-4x sizes. These shirts typically run one size smaller than you would normally wear. School hoodies can be ordered anytime, typically with a 2-3 day turn-around time. We still have Kali sticks as well. Moving forward, we ask that school merchandise be paid with cash, as we are often asked to process cards at an inconvenient time. Additionally, we have had cards declined for merchandise after the student has already received the shirt, hoodie, or training sticks.
3. Lastly, we continue to have credit / debit cards declined for monthly dues on a regular basis—this average is 5-7 students a month. Because of this problem, and the accounting time it requires, we will, effective immediately, charge a $15.00 per month for credit / debit cards that are declined due to “not sufficient funds.” Cardholders who are declined for other reasons (lost or stolen card, invalid expiration date) will be given notice and be given a grace period with 10 days to provide updated card information. If the updated card information is not provided within the 10-day period, the student will be responsible for a $15.00 service charge per month until the problem is rectified.
I look forward to an exciting year ahead and want to thank all of you for contributing to the success of DFWJKD Academy. My goal is to continue to affect lives in a positive way and be an influential force in our community.
In Strength,
Kirk D. Weicht
